Ready for Real

Simulators to help shape reality

Engineering the ideal car for the Real road

Developing competitive cars demands a deep understanding of how drivers experience and interact with your car, which can be challenging when real-world testing is limited or not feasible. Our driving simulators seamlessly integrate your vehicle dynamics and control models with advanced motion systems and immersive visual feedback, enabling you to test a virtual version of your car as if it were on real roads. Our simulators will empower you to address technical challenges in car development and calibration and provide confidence that decisions made based on simulator testing will be accurate, as drivers can feel and drive the virtual car just as they would the real one.

Trusted by
Competitive

Cruden simulators are your competitive edge because they enable effective collaboration between engineers and drivers. Through precise synchronisation of motion and visual cues, we ensure natural driver behavior, providing real-world insights that help you stay ahead of the competition.

Effective

Cruden simulators boost your effectiveness by integrating your own engineering and analysis tools, allowing you to work in the simulator just like at the racetrack or proving ground. Advanced tools ensure an accurate correlation between your virtual and real car, providing precise data to enhance performance and streamline development.

Future proof

Cruden simulators are built for the future, adapting to changing engineering challenges. The Panthera software framework and SDK enable quick integration of your tools, ensuring flexibility. With Cruden, you can confidently support car development, both now and in the future.

Customer Stories

“The driving simulator is part of the comprehensive virtual development chain that we are already using successfully to design new chassis. In the future, we want to use it to experience driving characteristics very early on, in order to make pivotal decisions about the project. That saves time and resources and makes it possible for us to influence the vehicle concept early on.”

"The Cruden simulator affords us the luxury of testing and validating autonomous vehicle control systems exclusively or as part of a wider scope of research where human behaviours and interactions with these systems are repeatedly monitored and observed in real time. The flexibility and ease at which the hardware and software works together enables us to conduct repeatable and measurable research on accurate representations of the vehicles, the prevailing driving environment and numerous scenarios which a driver may encounter."

Frequently asked questions
Does Cruden Manufacture motion systems?
Arrow

Yes, Cruden was the first company to implement 6-DOF motion systems for motorsport engineering simulators. From the beginning, we’ve collaborated closely with motion system specialists such as E2M, VHT, and Dynisma. Besides providing input for standard motion bases, we frequently work with these companies as subcontractors to deliver bespoke motion systems for high-end motorsport teams and car manufacturers.

Can Cruden help us improve our existing simulator?
Arrow

Yes, Cruden can definitely assist in improving your existing simulator. Often, performance issues stem from poor integration between hardware and software components. The first step typically involves software upgrades and system reconfiguration. Beyond that, we can help upgrade your visual and motion systems, as well as build custom mock-ups for your simulator. As an independent company, we offer unbiased solutions tailored to your needs.

Does Cruden sell simulation software?
Arrow

Yes, Cruden offers its in-house developed simulation software, Panthera. This software serves two primary functions: first, it controls the visual, motion, audio, and haptic feedback for the driver in the simulator. Second, it integrates engineering tools with the driving simulator while preserving accurate self-motion perception.

Does Cruden offer academic programs?
Arrow

Yes, Cruden actively supports academic institutions through various programs. We provide access to our demonstration and development simulators at Cruden HQ for Master's thesis projects. We also offer special discounts on our Panthera simulation software and content for universities. Furthermore, with over 30 years of industry experience, we often buy back older motion systems during upgrades, refurbish them, and offer them to universities at a reduced price.

What does the Cruden company name mean?
Arrow

Although we are a Dutch company, Cruden refers to a beautiful small village in Scotland, Cruden Bay. Nothing less, nothing more.
