In this video Artemis Technologies discusses its full-motion platform sailing simulator, which is a ground-breaking technology in the sailing sport world.
“The sport is technical sport, it’s that marriage between machine and human and the simulator really is the point where all of that comes together,” says Iain Percy OBE. “The simulator has two functions: crew training, which allows the sailors to work with the boat, work on muscle memory, through protocols and manoeuvres; the second is the development of the systems, which allows us to run the software we run on the boat, a lot of the hardware the sailors interface with, in real time, just as if it was on the water,” Jonathan Nicols, Lead Systems Engineer. “It’s not as costly or time sensitive as putting a boat on the water.”
